Who we are
This website, the Link Verified tool and the Link Verified browser extension are operated by Wolfstone Digital Ltd (company number 17114983), registered at Eagle House, Sudbury Rd, Great Whelnetham, Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, IP30 0UN, United Kingdom. When we refer to "we", "us", or "our", we mean Wolfstone Digital Ltd. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.
Scope
This policy covers personal data we process through:
- our website at wolfstone.digital;
- the Link Verified backlink-audit tool, including the account portal; and
- the Link Verified by Wolfstone browser extension.
What we collect
Account information
When you create a Link Verified account we collect your name, email address, password (stored only as a securely hashed value by our authentication provider — we never see or store your plain-text password), and optionally your phone number, company and the services you're interested in.
Audit data
When you run an audit — on the website or through the extension — we process the page URL you submit and the target domain you're checking for, and we store the audit result (the five checks and the overall verdict) against your account so you can view your history. The browser extension only reads the URL of your current tab when you actively open the popup and run an audit; it does not track, read or monitor your browsing in the background.
Authentication & the extension
To keep you signed in, an authentication session token is stored locally — in your browser's storage on the website, and in the extension's local storage (chrome.storage.local) in the extension. This token stays on your device and is sent to our backend only to authorise your requests. It is removed when you sign out.
Usage & rate-limiting
For anonymous (signed-out) audits we record a truncated request identifier and your IP address solely to enforce the free daily limit and prevent abuse.
Payment information
Paid plans are processed by Stripe. Card details are entered on Stripe's secure checkout and are never sent to or stored by us. We retain only a Stripe customer reference, your subscription status and plan tier.
Cookies & analytics
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies as described in our Cookie Policy. The browser extension does not use advertising or analytics cookies.
How we use your data
- To provide the audit service and your account portal, and to show your audit history and plan usage.
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- To process payments and manage subscriptions (via Stripe).
- To enforce fair-use and plan limits.
- To respond to enquiries and, where you've expressed interest, to contact you about relevant Wolfstone Digital services.
- To improve and maintain the service.
Legal bases (UK GDPR / EU GDPR)
We rely on: performance of a contract (providing the tool and account you signed up for); legitimate interests (securing the service, preventing abuse, and contacting interested prospects); consent (non-essential cookies and marketing); and legal obligation (e.g. financial record-keeping).

We share data only with providers that help us run the service, under appropriate data-processing terms:

We do not sell your personal data.
International transfers
Some providers may process data outside the UK/EEA. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
Data retention
We keep account and audit data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain certain records (e.g. for tax/accounting). Anonymous rate-limiting records are kept only briefly.
Your rights
Under the UK Data Protection Act 2018 and UK/EU GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, delete or port your data, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these — including deleting your account and associated data — email hello@wolfstone.digital. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) or your local supervisory authority.
Children
The service is intended for business users and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above reflects the latest version, and material changes will be highlighted where appropriate.
