AI SEO agency: get named by ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI

If you are considering trying to harness the power of the LLMs as a way of generating leads into your business, or if you've tried before with limited success, you are in the right place.

This is not something that we set out to build a business around. This is something we got good at by accident, through hard work building our own online brands and leaving no stone unturned in an incredibly competitive niche.

We've acquired the skills to a point where we can teach them to others. Let's see what we can do to help.

What is an AI SEO agency?

An AI SEO agency gets your business named inside the answers that ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google's AI give when someone describes a problem you solve. It is a different job from ranking, and a business can be first on Google and completely absent from the answer sitting above it.

Is your business already invisible to AI search?

You can check in about a minute, free, with no account. Our AI visibility checker runs live queries against ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude and shows you what each one actually says about you.

Proven with our own money

Our experience in AI SEO

We built and still own a finance brand that is one of the most cited sources in its niche, ahead of publishers you would recognise. We did that with our own money, before we sold the service to anybody.

What we did for The Investors Centre

The Investors Centre is ours. UK retail investing, which is about as hard a category as exists online: YMYL, heavily regulated, and dominated by publishers with decades of authority.

Where it stands now, from Ahrefs in August 2026: 20,000-plus organic visits a month, and more than 4,000 AI answers naming the site across ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, AI Overviews, Gemini, Perplexity and Copilot. Domain Rating 66. It is on track for £1.5 million turnover in 2026, three and a half years after launch, and that is a projection rather than a filed figure.

Nothing has ever been spent on ads. Not once. Paid keywords zero, paid traffic zero.

We are not going to pretend that was a straight line. We used a few agencies first, got very little for the money, and took the whole thing in house because we could not find anyone who would do the off-page work properly.

What we have done for Wolfstone itself

Read the full write-up of this recording

On 3 July 2026 we recorded a live ChatGPT session and asked it to recommend agencies for AI search optimisation and SEO in our market. No leading prompts, no retakes, no editing. Wolfstone came back in the answer.

The clip is unedited and it is on the site. You can watch the whole thing, including the parts where the model hedges.

We publish it for the same reason we publish our prices. Anyone can claim their clients get recommended by AI. Very few will show you a screen recording of it happening to them, with the prompt visible, because the result has to be there on the day you press record.

It is not a one-off. Recommendations like that one send us work most weeks, which is the whole argument for this page: we sell AI visibility because it is where a meaningful share of our own new business comes from.

The work

What does AI SEO actually involve?

AI SEO includes SEO. It does not replace it. You are doing the same work on your own site that you always did, and then also working on the external sites a model reads before it summarises an answer about your category.

That is the whole shape of it, and it is worth being blunt because a lot of agencies are currently selling AI SEO as though it were a new discipline that makes the old one obsolete. It is not. A model still has to reach your site, parse it, and decide you are credible, and every one of those steps is ordinary SEO.

  1. Everything SEO already does, because none of it goes away

Technical health, page speed, internal linking, content that answers a real question, and authority earned from other sites. If a competitor beats you on all five, no amount of AI-specific tinkering will put you in the answer ahead of them. This is the floor, not the ceiling, and most of the businesses we speak to have not built it yet.

  2. Making the site readable to a machine

Housekeeping, mostly, and it is duller than it sounds. Pages cannot be too heavy. Navigation has to make sense. The AI crawlers have to be allowed in. A surprising number of businesses fall over on that last one: when we audited the websites of Suffolk's 100 largest companies in June, 6.7% were blocking at least one major AI crawler and 5.6% were blocking GPTBot specifically. Almost none of them will have chosen that.

  3. Structuring pages so an answer can be lifted

A model pulling an answer out of your page has to work out which part of it is the answer. Clean headings and a direct response underneath each one is how it does that. In our experience the beginning and the end of a page carry disproportionate weight, and material buried in the middle tends to get lost. Worth knowing before you write a 4,000 word essay with the good bit in paragraph nineteen.

  4. Building the citations models trust

This is the part that gets skipped, and it is the same part that gets skipped in ordinary SEO. Models draw on how well a brand is documented across the whole web, not on how good one page is. That means mentions, links and coverage on sites the model already reads. It costs money, because those placements are bought from third parties rather than conjured.

  5. What we will not sell you

We do not believe schema markup is the lever people claim it is, and the data we have does not support it. We do not believe in llms.txt either. Both get sold hard at the moment because they are easy to deliver and easy to invoice.

Do the housekeeping properly, write pages that answer things, and buy the authority. That is the job.

Is AI SEO different from traditional SEO?

It is broader rather than different. SEO is what you do on your own domain. AI SEO is that plus what appears about you on the other sites a model reads, which means you cannot fix AI visibility entirely from inside your own website.

The divergence is in what the engines are drawing on. Google ranks pages. A model assembles an answer from everything it has read about a subject, which means a competitor's blog post describing your category can shape what gets said about you.

Which is why agencies treating this as a content exercise on the client's own domain are getting thin results and cannot always explain why.

Can AI agents just do SEO for you?

Not yet. AI agents are genuinely useful for research, analysis and drafting, but they have a tendency to run before they can walk, and SEO punishes that.

We use AI heavily. It would be strange for an agency in this field not to. Reporting in particular is now largely automatic, and anyone charging you much for it is padding.

What agents cannot yet do is judgement. Deciding which keyword a page should own and which it must avoid, knowing that a placement looks fine and is worthless, understanding that a client's compliance constraints are an advantage rather than an obstacle. Get those wrong at speed and you have published forty pages that compete with each other.

There will be a day when an agent handles most of this. We do not think that day has arrived, and we would rather say so than sell you a demo.

Pricing

How much does AI SEO cost?

Our floor is £2,000 a month plus VAT, and AI SEO sits inside that retainer rather than beside it as a separate line.

Roughly half of a £2,000 month goes straight out to other websites for placements. We do not keep it. That is the honest reason the floor exists: below it there is nothing left for the off-page work, and the off-page work is what makes a brand citable.

Be wary of AI SEO or GEO sold as a premium add-on at a premium price. Much of what makes you citable is authority and clean structure, which you should be paying for already.

Why does Wolfstone's AI SEO cost that much money?

So much of it goes on off-page work. That is an essential part of the process, and it is the part we know works.

SEO and AI search are competitive. You are trying to win, which means being top or very close to it, because the money goes to the businesses that dominate their niche, or set out to. If you want to do it on a shoestring and settle for the bottom of page one, I would put the budget into ads instead.

There has to be an adequate amount of resource for me and my team to make that happen. Some parts of SEO can be done on a shoestring, but if you're handing us the keys to your online presence and I'm being judged on the results, I need the resource to do it properly.

What I can say is that if you give us that resource, it will pay dividends, as it has for my own businesses.

Before you hire anyone

Which AI SEO agency should you choose?

There are three questions you should ask every agency you speak to, including us.

Do they rank for their own target keywords?

Search the terms they would want to be found for, in Google and in ChatGPT, and see whether they come up. If they cannot do it for themselves, the pitch is theoretical.

Show me your best two case studies. What was the ROI?

A rising line on a dashboard proves very little. A named business you can go and verify yourself proves a lot, and the number that matters is what the work returned, not how much traffic it moved.

How much do you spend, and how much of it leaves the agency?

Ask what your fee is actually spent on. If none of it leaves the agency, no authority is being bought, and authority is most of what a model is weighing.

Those three questions will thin the field quickly, including some agencies with very good decks.

Why Wolfstone

What makes Wolfstone one of the best AI SEO agencies in Suffolk and the UK?

We are a Bury St Edmunds agency working across Suffolk, East Anglia and the UK, and we are the only one we know of that guarantees the outcome: ChatGPT recommends your business within 90 days, or we work for free.

Three things sit behind that. We own a brand that is genuinely cited at the top of a difficult niche, so the method has been tested with our own money rather than a client's. We understand how these models retrieve and assemble information, which is a different question from how Google ranks. And our strategies are more aggressive than most, because we have had the room to test things on ourselves that we would not trial on a client first.

The local part is not decoration. We work with businesses within about 50 to 100 miles because we want to meet you and shake your hand. We are not in a different time zone with a gaming chair and a dashboard.

The guarantee

What happens if you are not cited in 90 days?

We keep working and you stop paying. That is the GEO Guarantee, and it is the reason we turn work away when we do not think we can deliver.

There is a three-month minimum term and then it runs monthly. The minimum is not a lock-in. It takes about 90 days to see the full extent of what the work is doing, and a shorter term would mean taking money for results you could not yet judge.

We also decline business fairly often. Wolfstone is a young company and the thing we cannot afford is a client who paid for a year and got nothing, so if we do not think we can move your numbers we will tell you at the first call.

Frequently asked questions about AI SEO

What is AI SEO?

AI SEO is the work of getting a business named inside the answers AI assistants give. It overlaps with traditional SEO on technical health and authority, and differs in that it also depends on what other sites say about you.

Will AI replace SEO?

It is changing where the answer appears rather than removing the need to be findable. The underlying job, being the business a machine can verify and recommend, has not changed. The surface it happens on has.

Is AI SEO the same as GEO?

They overlap heavily. GEO, or generative engine optimisation, is the more precise term for optimising towards generative answers specifically. We have written about GEO separately here.

How long does AI SEO take to work?

We guarantee a ChatGPT recommendation within 90 days. Broader visibility across all engines builds over six to twelve months, because it depends on citations accumulating on other sites.

Can I check my AI visibility myself?

Yes, and you should before speaking to anyone. Our checker is free, needs no account, and queries the engines live rather than estimating.

Do you work with businesses outside Suffolk?

Yes, across the UK. We prefer clients within roughly 50 to 100 miles of Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk because we like to meet in person, but the AI SEO work itself is not geographically limited.
